The fashion show took place at Ocean Shores Shopping Centre on Thursday 10th of December 2015. In celebration of the launch of the new local clothing label ‘Sparkle Lily’, the venue came alive with an impressive turnout of supporters, local musicians, bubbles, nibbles and a vibrant fashion parade showcasing this season range and Mermaid Collective jewellery.
Kylie Flevell the owner and designer of Sparkle Lily, captures the feminine and bohemian elements of clothing design. Her focus is on providing ‘comfortable, affordable and feminine fashion options’ as she draws her inspiration from providing clothing for women of all ages, sizes and budgets. The fashion display featured a range of local models of varied ages and sizes from 17 to 53 year old including a mother and daughter duo.
Byron Bay has become a design hub for several up and coming designers such as Spell, Arnhem and many more. The region is now on the world map for innovative fashion with international designers visiting the beachside town for inspiration. With Flavell’s emerging influence this design culture has now extended to Ocean Shores to her boutique where she stocks a range of Byron shire designers including Mermaid Collective.
